The Law of Attraction and Other People
Understanding the law of attraction is relatively straight forward, until the subject of relationships with other people is brought up. People wonder if the law of attraction means they can control other people, or if other people can control them.
As with the rest of the law of attraction, you attract what you focus upon. You attract certain types of people into your life, and others attract certain types of people towards themselves. However, you never control other people.
When you choose to adopt a new belief, you are choosing to change your own energy.
This is a key point of the law of attraction that most people miss. The law of attraction is about changing yourself at a deep level. The people around you then get to decide how to react to your new energy.
For instance, if you want to be around kinder, more understanding and caring people, you will first have to ask yourself if you believe these people exist. If you don’t believe they exist, you cannot attract them towards you, because you are focusing on the lack of them, not on the presence of them.
You will need to bring yourself to a place where you believe these people exist, want to be around you, and to a place where you recognize and acknowledge their presence first. Sometimes that entails changing your self-perception and deciding that you deserve to be around those kinds of people. If you want to be around certain types of people, you can create that scenario, but it may require you changing who you are on a deeper level.
When you make that change, the people around you will either become more aligned with the energy of the new person you have become, or they will not be able to be around you at all. Your energy will not be able to accept anything else in its orbit.
